When I log on to the internet, windows works well for anywhere from 1 minute to 3+ hours. Why does it freeze and become unresponsive? The only thing I can do is re-start it and then it works again until it decides it’s had enough!
I have Windows XP and I use Avast anti-virus. The computer is 6 or 7 years old. It has 256 MB RAM

If I take the 10 GB of music from my computer and place them on an external hard drive, will this free up enough space to improve the overall speed of my computer? I am running low on space on the C drive.
